| For the past 25 years, my art has been inspired by the neurological and chemical processes in the brain which makes this project a particularly meaningful and exciting challenge. In the piece “Connect the Dots and Challenge the Status Quo,” I strive to provide an extraordinary meeting place that invites people to linger and allow their minds to wander. All 23 symbols in the work are of unknown, abstract objects and their soft, living forms reference elements from nature and science. Moreover, because the symbols are non-specific, they provide space for the free-flowing thoughts, ideas and associations of visitors. As the title of suggests, this is a place where people can meet and engage in exchanges, as well as focus on the flow of their own thoughts. My hope is that the piece creates a space in which thoughts and reflections lead to the discovery of new connections from everyday life. |
