3 Bolster Facilities, Improve Quality
Dorm Renovation in the Hsinchu Park
The Songyuan Single-Dorm Building was completed in 1984. To enhance safety and comfort, an overall renovation project was launched in November 2022 to undertake interior refurbishment, retrofitting by column-jacketing, façade cladding, roof waterproofing, and elevator installation, as well as renovation of plumbing and electrical wiring/piping, ceilings, floors, and rooms.
Given safety concern triggered by façade tiles coming off Zhizhi Building, a façade renovation project was launched in September 2021. Intended to enhance safety and comfort, the project was completed in the first quarter of 2022.
Years of wear and tear had rendered the tennis court—its floor, restrooms, and other facilities—in the Hsinchu Park’s east all but unusable. A renovation project was thus launched in July 2022 and completed in the fourth quarter.
Targeting the golf driving range’s time-worn perimeter fencing and scaffolding and the swimming pool’s debilitated washrooms, a renovation project was completed in March 2022.
A project on updating the firefighting equipment at Zhushui Building and 26 other dorm buildings for HSP employees and family members kicked off in August 2022. Completed in November of the same year, the project repaired or replaced extinguishers, emergency lights, broadcasting panels, and smoke detectors to help ensure safety and living comfort.
Offer Subsidies for Local Projects
To foster the development of both the HSP and

neighboring areas, the HSPB is proactive to help local governments meet greater demand for public facilities brought about over the course of HSP development. Subsidies are offered for local governments to undertake various projects within a three-kilometer radius of the HSP. These include traffic, policing, firefighting, drainage, water supply, environmental protection, education and culture, medicine and healthcare, and land use. As such, concerted efforts are made to bolster public facilities, enhance service quality, and strive for sustainability. In accordance with applicable regulations, the HSPB provided subsidies totaling NT$93.59 million to local governments and township offices in 2022 for their traffic improvement, police/firefighting, and educational and cultural projects.
4 Fight Against the Pandemic to Protect the Economy
Walk-in Vaccination Against COVID-19
In accordance with the vaccination schedule announced by the Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC), the HSPB was joined by the Hsinchu City government to set up a walk-in vaccination station at the HSP's Activity Center on January 17, 2022. As of February 25 of the same year, a total of 21,955 HSP employees and local residents had been vaccinated here.
Hsinchu Science Park Clinic’s Telemedicine Service
As the pandemic progressed in 2022, the Hsinchu Science Park Clinic rendered such services as vaccination appointment and administration, remote diagnostics and treatment, and provision of oral antiviral drugs.
