Sustainable Development— Occupational Safety and Health Seminar
The Occupational Safety and Health Administration, Ministry of Labor has pledged to strive for the UN’s SDGs set for 2030. To help promote the cause, the HSPB hosted “Sustainable Development— Occupational Safety and Health Seminar” on October 20, 2022. As part of the Labor Safety and Environmental Protection Month campaign, the event was meant to encourage tenant companies to regard employee safety and health as a major asset and lay down relevant development goals on their path toward sustainability. The seminar began with an introduction to how the Occupational Safety and Health Administration implements the Sustainable
dynamic positioning technology was adopted to track contractor movements at its premises. Meanwhile, an industrial safety equipment exhibition was simultaneously held outside the seminar venue.

Comprehensive Healthcare
Cancer came in first among the top 10 causes of death in Taiwan in 2021, according to statistics compiled by the Ministry of Health and Welfare. Of cancers, lung cancer ranked third. In keeping with the spirit of preventive medicine, the Hsinchu Science Park Clinic provides the employees of more than 150 contracted tenant companies with free LDCT tests each year to screen for lung cancer. In 2022, a total of 2,678 persons took up the offer. A new free service introduced in 2022 was CT scanning for coronary artery calcification. To date a cumulative 16,251 persons had taken advantage of this free CT service to the gratitude of many tenant companies as a considerable number of their employees were thus able to get early diagnosis
Development Plan for Workplace Health and Safety to help local companies improve their disclosure of information in this regard to stakeholders. Next, a number of tenant companies shared their experiences in promoting occupational safety and health. Innolux Corp. highlighted its people-centric corporate culture by sharing how the company works toward promoting physical and mental health at the workplace. United Microelectronics Corp. introduced its proprietary digital safety management system developed for smart factories that features digitization of internal processes for applications in AI-enabled management. Lastly, AUO Corp. shared its contractor management process;
and go on to seek medical attention accordingly.
