Action Plan for Caring for HSP Employees Confirmed With COVID-19
In May 2022, the number of infections with the Omicron variant surged in Taiwan. The HSPB responded by introducing the Action Plan for Caring for HSP Employees Confirmed With COVID-19 on May 23 to rally tenant companies to join the fight against the pandemic and keep up a friendly workplace for their infected employees. Key items were establishment of a special support team, training and education, support delivery by mail/phone/videoconferencing, mobile support and care packages, and physical and mental care for returning to the workplace. The plan was intended for the reference of tenant companies in devising and implementing their own employee support measures. For its part, the HSPB also conducted oversight of such work by drawing on an exclusive reporting system and assigning personnel to make follow-up phone calls and on-site visits.

Sustainable Development Goals: SDG 3
Taiwan’s National Council for Sustainable Development has specified T-SDG 3 as “Ensure promotion of healthy lives and promote well-being for all at all ages.”
In pursuit of this goal, the HSPB is committed to making a paradigm for the HSP while supervising efforts of tenant companies on this front. Tenant companies are encouraged to build a people-centric corporate culture and give priority to employee safety at the workplace. In a bid to promote awareness of occupational hazards, the HSPB has implemented a number of policies geared toward the vision of “zero occupational injuries, zero occupational accidents.” Accomplishments in this regard have been disclosed in the HSPB’s voluntary review for the reference of tenant companies in creating a friendly workplace.
