Daily Services for Comfort and Convenience
New Convenience Store, Mobile Store, Eatery Added to Standard Plant Buildings
A new convenience store, OK mart, has been ushered in to the Hsinchu Park’s New Phase II Standard Plant Building. Coming with retail food items, instant foods, microwave foods, and household supplies, as well as consignment sales, it makes a new choice for HSP employees to readily access multiple merchandise and services.
During September-November 2022, the HSPB introduced a mobile store to a vacant lot in front of the Yilan Park’s Phase I Standard Plant Building on a trial basis with a view to helping expand the park’s daily amenities. This van-turned store operated at this location for a specific period of the day and offered daily necessities, drinks, instant noodles, and cookies. Moreover, it also accepted orders for scheduled deliveries and launched discount campaigns from time to time. Separately, a MUJI-style eatery is being ushered in to the newly completed Phase II Standard Plant Building. In addition to serving breakfast and lunch as well as afternoon tea and snacks for both dine-in and take-out customers, it will provide conference catering that includes coffee and tea, pastries, noodles and the like, and set menus. Customers can also find coffee beans and other daily merchandise on its shelves. After its official launch this year, the new eatery’s full range of dining services will surely give HSP employees an opportunity to delight their palate on work days.
Park (NEHS) on August 1, 2022. “NEHS was my first choice when we were asked to list our preferences in the principal selection process,” Chang Chien said at his inauguration. “With exceptionally excellent students and teachers, NEHS is widely acclaimed and highly competitive. It’s my great honor to be appointed its 8th principal.” As a new school year unfolds, priority will be given to teaching digitization and bilingualization as well as internationalization of student activities. Equally important are construction on a new general teaching building, celebration of the school’s 40th anniversary, and preparations for the forthcoming international assessment of the Bilingual Department. The new principal pledged to work with students and faculty to make sure that NEHS can enjoy a brighter future and move up another rung.

What merits special attention is the diversity of honors won by NEHS students. In addition to awards from International Science Olympiads competitions, Lin Yi-kai garnered a silver medal for 400m relay at ISF Gymnasiade and Tsuo Hsin-yi was a recipient of Zonta International’s Young Women in Public Affairs Awards. These accolades attest to the school’s commitment not only to academic development but also to balance in different disciplines, diversity of talents, and engagement in public affairs. When meeting with the awardees, HSPB Director-General Wayne Wang gave his blessing that they could attend a university or college of their choice and make a contribution to Taiwan’s industrial innovation and development after graduation.
