 one day before the 20th anniversary of the Jiji earthquake on September 21, 1999 that is now marked as National Disaster Prevention Day. Participants simulated responses to a composite disaster in the wake of an earthquake: personnel getting hurt by falling objects and splashes of chemicals and a fire erupting due to a chemical pipeline rupture. The drill proved a success as participants simulated relief of a large number of wounded people and other emergency responses with speed and precision.

3. Implementation of the Program on Safety and Health Assistance and Inspection for High-Risk Businesses: To ensure that tenant companies take safety and health issues seriously, the HSPB has established a platform of safety and health experts to provide small- and medium-sized enterprises with consulting services. Separately, assistance is given to tenant companies in setting up six joint emergency response task forces to facilitate the dissemination of disaster prevention techniques. The year 2019 saw extraordinary results from the involvement of 181 tenant companies on this front.
4. Drill and demonstration of emergency responses to a post-earthquake composite disaster: To better prepare tenant companies for coping with a large-scale disaster, the HSPB was joined by the Hsinchu City Fire Bureau to organize a drill in the Hsinchu Park on September 20,

 5.Joint safety and health auditing of tenant companies and supply chain partners: To minimize the risk of disruptions to the supplies to and operations of tenant companies, the HSPB joins forces with the Association of Industries in Science Parks to conduct audits, for which the supply chain partners of tenant companies are supposed to undertake autonomous management. On December 23, 2019, a total of 11 tenant companies gathered to share their experiences in this regard, which would surely help ensure supply chain stability as well as safety and health in the HSP.
6. In 2019, the Ministry of Labor accorded the HSPB an award of excellence after its annual evaluation of the performance of labor inspection agencies. On September 19, the HSPB’s outstanding performance on this front was rightly recognized as Deputy Minister of Labor Lin Ming-yu presented the HSPB with the said award during the year’s national staff conference on occupational safety and health as well as labor inspection.
