Health Care at the Hsinchu Science Park Clinic
In accordance with newly amended occupational safety regulations, business entities with 100- 199 employees shall contract medical personnel to offer on-the-spot services, beginning on January 1, 2020. To prepare tenant companies for this new requirement, the HSPB entrusted the Hsinchu Science Park Clinic to implement a program on
assisting tenant companies in conducting employee health management in 2019. Physicians and nurses were dispatched to tenant companies to deliver on- the-spot services and help enhance their capacity for health management. On August 15, 2019, the HSPB had its employees undergo measurement of their bone mineral density (0f the ankle) as well as intraocular pressure and eyesight tests. Given an avid response among HSPB employees, the event proved effective in promoting their awareness of health management.
To keep up friendly relations with neighboring communities, the Hsinchu Science Park Clinic provides residents in the neighborhood with, among other services, measurement of their bone mineral density (0f the ankle). Transportation would be made available to residents with a BMD reading of minus 1.5 or lower for undergoing a dual-energy X-ray absorptiometry test at the Hsinchu Science Park Clinic. In 2019, a total of 1,814 residents took advantage of this service. Of them, 175 persons received anomaly readings and subsequently
