Smart healthcare appears poised to move toward telemedicine, digital care (including home care), and minimally invasive diagnostics and treatment. Governments are also gradually revising and relaxing regulations, health insurance regimes, and market mechanisms. Take the U.S., the most important market for MiiS. The American Medical Association has accepted AI-assisted diagnostics for medical health insurance coverage; the FDA now recommends the use of disposable (single-use) endoscopes to minimize the risk of surgery infection. As such, the emerging smart healthcare market is set to further expand amid an increasingly supportive policy and insurance
telemedicine. To date it has captured 80% of the U.S. market for telemedicine imaging equipment. That devices labeled with the MiiS brand of “horus SCOPE” can be found aboard Air Force One has proven a huge boost to its sales worldwide.
In addition to the sales of horus SCOPE products in more than 60 countries, MiiS has entered into technological cooperation with partners in Japan, the U.S. and Germany. Rewards on this front are nearly 50 invention or design patents secured in Taiwan, the U.S., mainland China, Europe, and Japan. In terms of corporate social responsibility, MiiS is proactive not only to help bring medical services to Taiwan’s remote communities but also to play a role in medical diplomacy. Through global telemedicine, Taiwan’s
environment. In Taiwan, efforts are also being made to place remote healthcare under national health insurance coverage.
Given the aforesaid market trends and policy shifts, MiiS is set to focus future R&D on expanding its product mix. High on the agenda will be making remote and digital healthcare products accessible for home use as well as professional applications and develop disposable endoscopes suitable for different branches of medicine. The ultimate goal is for MiiS to develop into a provider of smart healthcare total solutions and foster a well-rounded healthcare ecosystem going forward.
