Monitoring Environmental Quality and Displaying Results
To date the HSPB has installed four air quality monitoring stations and one smart bulletin board in the Hsinchu, Jhunan, and Longtan parks each. In 2019, the HSP Air Quality Monitoring Network was completed. Meanwhile, every HSP park is now equipped with a noise audiometer and a visibility meter that help provide long-term monitoring and real-time data.
The HSP Air Quality Monitoring Network provides the general public with real-time data for the HSP and areas near the Environmental Protection Administration’s air quality monitoring station. Citizens can also access detailed results from the HSP’s various air quality monitoring stations and make use of a webpage designed specifically to offer air quality tips, thereby learning more about what the relevant readings signify.

treatment plants with plate-and-frame sludge dehydrators in 2019. With sludge moisture content reduced to 65% from 80% and the size of sludge cakes shrunk by over 42%, the impact of industrial waste on the environment is greatly mitigated.
Improve Treatment of Wastewater With High Conductivity in the Tongluo Park
To better appeal to potential tenants and ensure both industrial development and environmental protection, the HSPB implements this project to enhance the Tongluo Park’s capacity for treating wastewater with high conductivity. Such treating to make effluents qualify for irrigation purposes will give tenant companies an incentive to strive for even higher yields in production. Construction on the project is scheduled to start in September 2020 and its completion is set for 2022.
Promote Environmental Education
In 2019, the HSPB’s environmental education venues hosted 81 events and received 2,256 visitors. Separately, it took the initiative to bring environmental education to schools in remote areas and partner with educational institutions in organizing nine on-campus sessions.
